Humidity and odour control in industry.
High-pressure misting in industry performs three simultaneous tasks: maintaining precise relative humidity, binding dust and neutralising odours. Sectors: food processing, cold stores, wine cellars, printers, textile industry, waste-water plants, composting facilities, MBT plants. Systems run year-round 24/7, integrated with SCADA and industrial control systems.
Industrial misting — humidification, dust binding and odour neutralisation
Humidify. Dust. Odours.
In industrial environments we don't cool spaces, we condition the air. Microscopic droplets 10–20 μm are simultaneously a humidity-transfer medium, a glue for dust particles, and a carrier for the neutralisation of odour molecules. Three separate challenges, one technical core.
Humidification
Precise control of relative humidity ±5 %. Cold stores 88–95 %, wine cellars 75–85 %, printers 50–55 %, textile industry 60–70 %.
Dust binding
Water droplets bind airborne particulates and settle them. Effective against respiratory dust in woodworking, milling, concrete and mineral processing.
Odour control
Droplets bind ammonia, hydrogen sulfide and VOC molecules. With biodegradable neutralisers for waste-water and composting facilities when required.
Six industrial environments.
Each sector has its own specifics around required humidity, sanitary standards and work cycle.
Food processing and cold stores
Fruit, vegetables, meat, cheese, bakeries. Cold stores 88–95 % RH to prevent drying and extend shelf life. Systems are EN ISO 22000 and HACCP compliant.
Wine cellars and barrel ageing
Vipava, Goriška Brda, Štajerska. Cellar humidity for wine ageing 75–85 % RH preserves the barrels, prevents excessive evaporation and stabilises aroma. The system is silent and doesn't disturb the work of oenologists.
Printers and paper industry
Stable paper requires 50–55 % RH. Dry air causes static, paper shrinkage and printer jams. The system is integrated into the HVAC duct or placed locally above the line.
Textile industry
Spinning mills, weaving and knitting plants. Humidity 60–70 % reduces yarn breakage and static, improves product quality and machine productivity.
Waste-water plants and utilities
WWTPs, composting facilities, MBT plants, collection centres. Spraying with biodegradable neutraliser at intake zones and over bioreactors. Noticeable reduction of odours for neighbouring communities.
Wood, grain and mineral processing
Sawmills, mills, quarries, concrete plants. Binding respiratory dust, improving air quality for workers, compliance with BAT requirements.
Industrial reliability.
Industrial systems have redundant components, IP-protected enclosures, integration with industrial control systems, and 24/7 remote monitoring.

Expected outcomes
- Precise maintenance of target RH ±5 % across the entire volume
- Reduction of fruit and vegetable mass loss by up to 70 %
- Reduction of respiratory dust concentration 50–80 %
- Reduction of waste-water plant odours by up to 80 %
- Reduction of static electricity in printers and textile industry
- Reduction of dust-fire risk (wood and milling industry)
- Compliance with BAT conclusions for specific activities
Integration
The system integrates into existing BMS / SCADA via Modbus TCP, Profinet or OPC UA. Enables logging of target and actual RH, alarm management, remote service. Factory-tested and documented (IQ / OQ for pharmaceuticals on request).
"After installation, complaints due to dried-out fruit dropped to zero. The system pays back in one season."
Fruit cold store · Štajerska · 2024Industrial questions.
Why is relative humidity important in industry?
Many industries require precise relative humidity: wine cellars 75–85 % for barrel ageing, fruit and vegetable cold stores 88–95 %, printers 50–55 % for stable paper, textile industry 60–70 % for spinning. Low humidity causes drying, static electricity and reduced product quality.
How does the system neutralise odours in utilities?
Microscopic water droplets bind odour molecules (ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, VOCs) and settle them from the air. Biodegradable certified neutralisers can be added to the water. Used at waste-water plants, composting facilities, MBT plants and municipal collection centres.
Is the system HACCP / ISO 22000 compliant?
Yes. The system has an EN ISO 22000 (food safety) compliance certificate, uses only stainless components, water passes through 50 μm pre-filter + 1 μm fine filter + UV sterilisation. We prepare the documentation for HACCP integration.
Does the system operate year-round?
Yes. Industrial systems are designed for year-round operation, without seasonal drainage. Tubing is heated as needed, the control unit runs 24/7, with redundancy for critical productions.
How much does an industrial system cost?
Price is set per project based on space size, nozzle density and control complexity. Typical values: winery 5,000–12,000 EUR, cold store 8,000–25,000 EUR, waste-water plant 15,000–60,000 EUR. After a site visit we prepare a precise quote with ROI calculation.
Is ATEX execution available for explosion-risk zones?
Yes. For zones with explosion risk (milling, wood industry, chemical industry) we produce ATEX-compliant systems with appropriate nozzles, grounding and electric motors.
What service do you offer for industry?
Service contracts with 4 / 8 / 24-hour response times. Remote monitoring via SCADA, automatic fault notification. Half-yearly preventive services with filter replacement, nozzle inspection and sensor calibration.
